Symptoms of Ovarian Cysts and Ruptured Ovarian Cysts
Ovarian Cysts are the fluid-filled sacs that commonly occur in a woman having Menstration [Menstruation]. These are located within or on the surface of ovary and most of the times they resolve by its own and are harmless. They disappear within few months without any medical treatment. But when it doesn’t resolve by itself, it may be accompanied by pain or other symptoms. Ovarian cysts may also develop into potential and serious complications. - Irregular Menstration [Menstruation] periods or periods that may be longer or shorter than usual
- Pain associated with menstrual cycle, which may rise before or after menstrual periods
- Bleeding may be heavier or lighter than usual
- Sharp, piercing pain particularly in lower abdomen
- Tenderness of abdomen
- Abdominal pain and bloating
- Fever
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Weakness
- Loss of appetite
- Gas
- Constipation
- Indigestion
- Feeling of fullness even after a light meal
- Frequent urination
- Weight loss
Though the symptoms of ruptured ovarian cysts are similar to the symptoms of regular ovarian cysts and other conditions, you should not ignore them. A ruptured ovarian cyst can lead to life-threatening complications like hemorrhage and internal bleeding. Internal bleeding can be serious and dangerous and requires a surgery.
