Suffering from gout? It is important that you avoid specific list of foods that cause gout. Some of the foods to avoid are most common and liked tea, coffee, cocoa and chocolate. Foods with low purines need not be on the list of foods to avoid with gout. White rice and foods with low purines can be removed from the list of foods that cause gout. Also, you don't need to avoid foods such as cherries, strawberries, raw fruits, cheese, white breads, seeds, nuts, cereals and vegetables except the ones on the list of foods to avoid with gout such as lentils and spinach.

While it's good to stick to certain foods and avoid others with gout, it's also key that you drink plenty of water, limit meat protein consumption, limit fat and maintain a high level of physical fitness.

When you don't eat foods you should avoid with gout, you will reduce complications and the need for medication, and to further reduce gout attacks, try to lose weight and give up alcohol to reduce uric acid levels.
