Joint and Muscle Pain
According to experts, pain is the body’s message to you that something is wrong. Of course there hasn’t been a single soul in this world who might have not experienced it. Pain in the head, neck, shoulder, elbows, wrists, ankles, hips, knees and back or any other part of the body, are quite a common joint and muscle pain occurrence.
Occurrence of Joint and Muscle Pain
Most people about 90 per cent of them experience backache & headache. Although this is not a disease but it has been largely observed that these are triggers or signs from your body indicating that something is going wrong. The human body functions like a locomotive system comprising of the spine & the limbs (both, upper & lower) where two or more bones meet and a joint is formed. Bones are particularly designed in a way that facilitates movement. Most human aging includes the wear & tear and symptoms of pain appear in these joints. Of course pain of this type cannot be stopped but it can definitely be prevented or controlled. Most causes for joint and muscle pain through the ages have so far been a matter of serious concern. Call it lack of exercise or even high dosages of them, pain like most things that one does in life requires a sense of balance of the activities that you do in life. You exercise less and you experience pain, the more you exert the more its occurrence.
The frequency of joint and muscle pain is not restricted only to the old or the aged; in fact with sedentary lifestyles, it’s quite possible that pain of this sort is experienced by the younger generation as well. It is therefore important to note that because you are young you are likely to be inflicted by pain only after a particular serious injury, which may have been suffered earlier. In the aged people, it’s likely that the eruption of pain, especially in the joints can be a result of something either developing or growing that goes undetected; Arthritis for example, which is known to be the worst roaming pain.
Although modern medicine does not have a complete cure for recurring joint and muscle pain, these are treated with drugs & painkillers for temporary relief. Arthritis & sacroiliac joint dysfunction for example, cannot be cured by modern medicine even though it does bring in temporary relief. The age old and time tested unani system of herbal medicines have known to be effective in imparting permanent remedies for treating incurables like arthritis & all kinds of joint & muscular pain. Scientifically, you cannot really trace the occurrence of pain. The "compression of a nerve does not produce pain; neither does the spinal disk cause pain, and same goes with the case of the bones. A good question then to reflect here is where does this pain come from?
Usually pain in the joints can be caused due to specific reasons. Pain in the elbow for example, can be caused due to many reasons. A person suffering from neck pain, back pain, etc. will also suffer from elbow pain. Similarly bad postures, walking habits, wrong sitting posture, sleeping one sided for long can also cause elbow pain; so also can the lifting of too much of weight. Improper physical exercise is commonly known to cause all kinds of arm pain. It is therefore important that you be vigilant in your manner of walking, sitting, sleeping, lifting, and exercising to avoid pain of any kind.
Joints are most active in the arms so injuring these can damage them or cause uncontrollable pain. Besides, wrong-sitting postures, any uncomfortable position of holding the chair can cause immense elbow pain. Bad writing habits, holding things in wrong manner, pulling, pushing in an improper order can also cause pains at elbow & wrist. One of the main reasons for Arthritis to be caused (we’re discussing this as this deals with roaming pain) is thanks to the inflammation of both the elbow as well as the wrist. With proper analysis these can be treated and cured. Ill-fitting shoes, improper walking habits, etc., are some of the lesser-known causes of pain in elbow, wrist and palms, although these do exist. Moreover, diseases like diabetes, arthritis, etc., are one of the few known causes for joint and muscle pain.
Another type of joint pain would be shoulder pain. Shoulder pain could prove disastrous leading to grave situations like parasitic strokes. Most sports personnel are borne to shoulder pain, elbow wrist and pain in the palms among other injuries.
All about Knee Pain
One of the most important joint in our body is perhaps the knee, which we tend to take rather lightly. With our innate tendency to ignore the feet humans and doctors pay little attention to (what they feel are) minor things like aching feet. If unattended, these could pose problems in time. When your feet hurt, you hurt all over. It's a fact that foot miseries have a way of 'infecting' the whole person, after all they form as the perfect base for you to stand on! Aching feet can make it hard for one to feel tense & irritated. Your posture gets thrown out of line. And the more out of line your body is the greater the stress & fatigue. When you are slumped over, your digestive tract refuses to function appropriately. You are likely to develop lower back problems, knee problem, etc. The more serious condition here would be the damage that can inflict on your plans for a full, active life. With aching feet and a bad posture, not only does walking become a painful obligation it also damages any muscle or joint pain connected closely in its vicinity.
Most people who sit for long hours in front of the computer don’t realize the amount of stress your calf muscles go through. It’s a good idea for you to massage your calf muscles before retiring to bed, as the blocked blood circulation gets smoothened. Most people today save up for a great body massage as a majority of your muscles get strained thanks to our daily routine stress laden life styles. 80% of people in the world today suffer from foot pain/ache at one time or other. It is the third most common medical complaint. The foot is a very complex organ, a structure of 26 bones i.e. 12.5 of all the bones in the entire body, 56 ligaments & 38 muscles. With each step you take, the whole ensemble must shift & flex properly to carry your weight. There is a lot that can go wrong. This complex structure takes a heavy dose of wear & tear. By the time the average person is 35, his/ her feet have carried him/ her some 45,000 miles normally.
When you get to the bottom of many foot problems, what you will find is a pair of shoes. Improper, ill fitting shoes cause major foot, ankles & knee problems even your walking will be improper. Ill-designed & ill fitting shoes can cause damage to muscles & joints. The whole leg will be paining knee, ankle, foot & toe. 85% of foot problems are with women who wear high heeled & tight foot wears while shoes can be blamed for many foot problems. They cannot be held accountable for all. Many people have hereditary imbalance & they do not bear weight evenly & properly. A difference in limb length or an injury can produce foot & legs and persistent pain. Foot problems will affect the knee, thigh, back & shoulder out of line.
If you are an active runner, jogger or tennis player, incidentally, you should expect your share of foot pain. A good round of stretching and warm up not only soothes your muscles but also makes them stronger. The same can be said about using lightweights. Stretching makes our joints release the nitrogen gas that’s been locked in and makes your muscles less prone to sprains and pain. A minor injury can cause major problems. In short if you need to live a complete life, take care of your joints and muscles first, as these form the building blocks of your very existence.
