  • Eat the foods rich in carbohydrates like bread, rice, and pasta as these foods tie up excess stomach acid.
  • Eat slowly and don't overeat. Overeating may encourage the stomach to secret more acid for digestion.
  • Don't go to bed immediately after meals as it can make acid reflux worse.
  • Don't smoke immediately after meals as nicotine in the cigarette weakens the LES muscle and lead to heartburn.
