There are different types of diet pills each one having its own side effects and dangers. Therefore it is very important to know the dangers of diet pills before taking them.

Most of the diet pills contain caffeine, which raises the body's metabolism. We all know that caffeine has some negative effects on health and therefore diet pills may also have those negative effects. Caffeine breaks up the fatty acids in the body resulting in loss of appetite. And when this happens you don't feel like eating. Also, the sudden increase in metabolic rate can cause serious problems like heart diseases in obese people.

These types of diet pills may be addictive and can cause acne, anxiety, constipation, depression, dizziness, headache, hypertension, insomnia, joint disorder and palpitation. Other dangers of diet pills include kidney damage, overstimulation, dryness of mouth, impotence, restlessness etc.

Reduction in the calorie intake slows down the metabolism, slowing down the amount of weight you lose. Therefore people lose only a certain amount of weight if they take diet pills only. The best way to lose weight is a combination of diet pills, regular exercise and a well balanced diet.
