All about Combination skin

When we speak of the combination skin type, we are largely discussing about the quality of skin, which ranges from normal to dry skin. You may have noticed that your skin does not follow a certain pattern, that of either being largely dry, or the popular and perilous oily skin. With a combination skin type, you are most likely to get both these effects in a balanced manner. It’s interesting to note that this skin type although rare, is one that’s easiest to manage. For one a combination skin is usually hassle free, especially with the T zone area and the excessive dryness that people with dry skin face throughout the year.

Secondly, even if you’re not the one who’s happy with the way you look, you’re sure to get more than second time glances by those around you. In other words you’ll be a showstopper all the way! The first thing that you’ll probably notice about a combination skin is an even spread of natural oils on your face. This can be detected earliest in the morning. Your nose may be just about slightly moist and your forehead largely dry along with your cheek area.

Despite the kind of lotions and moisturizers that you use, you need to bear in mind that even though you may have one of the best skin types, it’s equally important that you know how to maintain it all throughout the season. Let’s look into the do’s and don’t of maintaining a combination skin.

Adding value to a combination skin

The most important path to giving the best skin solutions is the fact that these solutions are totally at your mercy. To make that one clearer let me put it this way that you are what you eat. Despite the skins that you are endowed with there are certain things that are to be borne in mind!

  • Firstly, check your life style. Ideally combination skins speak of a great yet normal life style. Any amount of stress and it's consequent after effects can ruin your sleep and grant you with dark circles. What may follow is small minuscular mustard like moles across the delicate portions of your eyes.
  • Secondly add in lots of fruits and fresh, steamed or raw vegetables in your diet. Combination skin is most likely to suffer the threats from the changing weather. For those who already have a typical skin type, well, you’ll know how to get prepared, but not with your skin type.
  • Third and more importantly, keep checking your intake of water from time to time, any drop in the levels or litres of water that you are consuming can directly make your face dry up. The cells underlying the dermis and epidermis of the skin need loads of water to remain refreshed and sparkling. The nutrient of your food reach much later to the skin, what greets the skin first is the water that you’ve consumed. Especially during winter seasons, where you are likely to cut down on your thirst levels, it's important that you maintain the 3 litres of water a day that you have been so religiously following.
  • A good way of rejuvenating your skin, especially the combination skin type is any form of exercise. Whether you are obese or lanky, a good round of exercise, especially the one that’s your favourite helps a lot. Dancing for example. A good stress buster, dancing performs the dual effects of getting you rid of your stress levels and also allowing you to move happily with the music. This takes care of three things really. One it helps you relax while you exercise. Second since you enjoy the task, you are also likely to pursue it vigorously and third more importantly, it makes you glow, as it stretches your skin and exercises the facial muscles while performing. You’ll notice most famous dancers are great showstoppers in their own right .
  • Natural face packs that are loaded with honey a dash of lime juice, some turmeric, a small teaspoon of some milk cream and a dash of gram flour can make up for an excellent face mask. Most combination skin types don’t require too much of gram powder or milk cream, thanks to the existence of natural oils. It's also a good idea to use equal proportions of glycerine, rose water and lime juice as an excellent tonic for combination skin.
  • As far as possible go in for regular clean ups and avoid too much steaming at the facial level. Open pores are the most common ailments that hound combination skin types. Keep your face clean and always use a moisturizer after washing your face and before using the computer. Combination skin types are also prone to dryness so it's better to be equipped with moisturisers, especially in front of the computer that is well known for it's inevitable radiations and also in an air-conditioned environment. Since you are used to drinking large amounts of water throughout the day the drying effect of the air conditioning can also be done away with!

All in all, underplay all treatments that you need to do for your skin. Don’t experiment too much either with cosmetics or with face packs. After all you’ve got some special skin which people die for, so treat it well and don’t let the advertisements lure you too much!
